Baskar Kotte is the President and Founder of Quality Systems Enhancement, Inc., based in Roswell, Georgia. The firm specializes in auditing, consulting, and training across quality management, occupational health and safety, environmental management, energy management, and operational excellence methodologies.
He brings more than four decades of expertise spanning the environment, quality, manufacturing, and operations fields, and has assisted more than 850 facilities in pursuing ISO-related certifications.
Experience
Baskar has worked across a broad range of sectors, including aerospace, automotive, casting, corrugated packaging, environmental, forest products, foundries, machine tools, medical devices, plastics, pulp and paper, service, telecommunications, and textiles.
His operational specializations include the training and implementation of operational excellence, statistical problem-solving, and customer satisfaction measurement, as well as Lean, Six Sigma, the Malcolm Baldrige framework, supplier development, and sustainability initiatives.
Standards development and technical committees
In 1987, Baskar was a member of the core group involved in writing ISO 9001 — the first edition of the standard that most of the manufacturing world now certifies to. He founded QSE five years later, and has spent every year since helping companies implement standards he helped shape.
Baskar is an original and active participant in the U.S. Technical Advisory Groups for ISO/TC 176 (Quality Management Standards), ISO/TC 207 (Environmental Management Standards), and ISO/TC 242 (Energy Management Standards). He served as Chair of Subcommittee 3 for the U.S. TAG ISO/TC 176 and as liaison to the International Accreditation Forum.
As a U.S. delegate, he contributed to the development of several international standards:
- ISO 10019 — Guidelines for the selection of quality management system consultants
- ISO 10004 — Quality management: customer satisfaction monitoring
- ISO 10008 — Guidelines for business-to-consumer electronic transactions
