Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) is an internationally accepted and ISO-based certification scheme involving the auditing and food safety certification of the supply chain. FSSC 22000 came about through an open and extensive consultation with several groups. It has been developed and maintained by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification to provide a comprehensive and widely-accepted system that will also serve as a vital link between food industry players and concerned entities such as the market and the government.

- Manufacturers of Perishable goods including animal products (e.g. poultry, dairy, eggs meat and fish) and vegetal products (e.g. fresh and preserved fruits, fresh and preserved vegetables and juices)
- Manufacturers of products with long shelf life (e.g. canned goods, snacks, beverages, pasta and food ingredients)
- Manufacturers of (bio)chemical products (e.g. additives and vitamins) excluding technological and technical aids
- Food packaging manufacturers that have indirect or direct contact with food
- Producers of animal feeds
